Funeral Collections

There are many special and personal ways to give a gift in memory of someone at their funeral.

Many people choose to hold a charitable collection at their loved one’s funeral or memorial service, asking for donations to CancerCare instead of flowers. Funeral collections are a meaningful way to remember someone special, helping their memory live on by funding life-changing support for local people affected by cancer or bereavement.

Get in touch

We understand that planning a funeral or memorial service can be a difficult time, so if you’d like to speak to someone about organising a collection, please call:

Online Funeral Collections

You might like to set up an online funeral collection page which you can personalise by adding photos and messages. It is an easy way for friends and family to donate online in memory of your loved one, and it’s much easier to increase donations by claiming Gift Aid. These pages take the hassle out of collecting money on the day and allow people who can’t attend the funeral to still be involved.

Funeral Donation Envelopes

We can provide special CancerCare donation envelopes to use for a funeral collection, making it easy for friends and family to donate in memory of your loved one.

You may choose to place the envelopes on seats at the service or leave them in an appropriate place for guests to collect. The envelopes can also be sent to people who may not be able to attend on the day but would still like to show they care by making a donation.

Funeral directors are usually happy to collect the envelopes on your behalf and send them back to CancerCare.

By using the donation envelopes, you could also raise up to 25% more as CancerCare can claim Gift Aid.

Paying In Donations

If you would like to send us the donations collected at a funeral or memorial service, they can be dropped off or addressed to your nearest CancerCare centre (addresses below). To keep your donations safe, we ask that you please do not send cash in the post.

We’d like the opportunity to express our gratitude to you – and to your friends and family – for thinking of us at this difficult time. When sending donations collected in memory of a loved one, please include their name and details of your relationship to them, as well as your own contact information.

Donations can also be made online.
