Sarah Drake, our Development and Engagement Officer and our Family Case Worker Suzee Tylee, were invited as guest speakers to the BTEC Health and Social Care class at Jamea Al Kauthar Girls School in Lancaster.

The students who all board at the school enjoyed an interactive lesson with a health quiz, brain storming sessions and conversations about barriers to accessing health care and support services.

The students, who were aged 16-20, were enthusiastic about learning what CancerCare does and how we support people in the local community. It was so successful we have been invited back to do another lesson in the near future.

Another wonderful opportunity to teach young people about the importance of health self-awareness.
