This July friends Ange Rawlinson and Christine Macleod are taking on a very special challenge to celebrate their joint 60th birthday! The pair are striding right into their 60s by pledging to walk 120 miles whilst raising money for CancerCare.
“CancerCare is a special charity to us and we value the work they do in our community, not only with cancer related ussies but with other far-reaching projects that have a huge impact of those who need the support they offer,” said the pair.
“We always feel good to be out in the fresh air regardless of the weather, we walk in rain or shine, which is quite a good thing living here in the North West! So far we’re really enjoying the challenge and it has been a great way to socialise with our friends and family who have joined us on our walks. Walking for such a good cause has given us extra drive and satisfaction. Doing such a small thing in terms of walking towards a goal is satisfying, humbling and a pleasure all at the same time,” they added.
They will be taking part in our 40th Anniversary Sunset Cross Bay Walk this Sunday along with their friends and family members, so they will certainly be getting some steps in across the sands!
So far Ange and Christine has raised just over £360! Thank you ladies for doing this very special challenge for us!
