Rubbing shoulders with royalty... and wizardry!

Our Volunteer Co-ordinator Holly Spent a sunny afternoon enjoying tea and cake at Buckingham Palace as part of the ceremony to receive her Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award, last week.

Among the guests assembled on the lawn were Prince Edward and James and Oliver Phelps, who played the twins in the Harry Potter films.

A fantastic and well deserved achievement for Holly, who does a grand job looking after our volunteers across all our centres.

Holly said: “The DofE has really helped to shape me into the person I am today. I've learnt so many life skills and learnt so much about myself. The DofE award is one of my proudest achievements as I had to overcome physical and mental challenges as well as being traumatized by being chased by a herd of cows! It was also lovely to celebrate it with my dad as it was his 60th birthday.”

Well done Holly, and to find out more about volunteering at CancerCare email holly.salisbury@cancercare.org.uk or click here https://cancercare.org.uk/get-involved/volunteer-for-charity
