Sunday saw the return of the Lancaster University Triathlon after a two-year break. It was back with a bang with 136 participants, 76 of whom had never competed in a triathlon before!
Our Kendal Fundraiser Richard Cogger was there with a team of volunteers to help support the competitors and promote our services.
“Sunday's triathlon was a huge success. I would like to say thank you to all those at the University who helped organise and put on the event as well as our very own fabulous team of volunteers who helped on the day. It was a breezy and occasionally damp morning but the participants set up and took to the challenge, many taking part for their very first triathlon,” said Richard.
The event was first organised back in 2016, in memory of a much-loved colleague at the University, Andy Bailey and the event has continued to run every year, raising money for CancerCare and St John’s Hospice.
A huge well done to all the participants. Thank you to Sport Lancaster for organising a brilliant event.
If you didn’t manage to join us this time, there’s always next year!
