October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and a personal fitness trainer from Furness will be marking it by undertaking a special fundraising challenge.
Sally Craig is running an intense fitness event to raise money for CancerCare as a close member of her family has benefitted from our services at our Barrow Centre on Duke Street, after a breast cancer diagnosis.
The event at Barrow Leisure Centre will consist of three High Intensity Impact Training (HIIT) - which involves short bursts of high-intensity exercise followed by another period, or interval, that is less intense.
Sally, a PT at The HIIT Company in Barrow, was hoping to raise £500 and she has already smashed her target with pledges totally more than £600!
"I’ve been teaching HIIT for five years, and I chose to support CancerCare because it is a great charity that has supported one of my family members after they were diagnosed with breast cancer. I’m really excited for the takeover, and I can’t wait to see everyone pushing themselves through an intense workout for a good cause,” said Sally.
The challenge will take place on Sunday 9th October from 10am-1pm and all money raised from Sally’s takeover will be donated to CancerCare.
