CancerCare’s Every Step Counts is the ultimate walking challenge that makes full use of the world-famous routes we are so lucky to have on our doorstep.
Launched in the summer of 2024, Every Step Counts encourages you to take time out of your busy life to enjoy the beauty of nature and to explore the breathtaking Bay landscape.
Anyone can get involved. We're looking for solo hikers, walking groups, corporate teams, families and schools to embrace the challenge, irrespective of the weather, and push on to complete all 12 walks detailed in our free Walker's Guide received upon sign up. At least three of the walks are accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs, too.
It costs £15 to sign up to take on the challenge. As well as your Walker's Guide, we'll send you a handmade knitted bird, lovingly made by one of our volunteers and clients. Walkers can take their bird with them, then we’re asking for you to post a birdie selfie at some of the key milestone/viewing points around the walks, and share your photos on social media or email them to our team to feature on our socials.
The walks can be completed in whichever order. Participants will receive a certificate from CancerCare for achieving either 3, 8 or all 12 walks.
Any fundraising or sponsorship is appreciated, but we’d love for you to set a target of £120 per walker or family group. Set up your JustGiving page below.
By fundraising, you take CancerCare one step closer to being there for everyone that needs us.
