Our Director of Fundraising and Marketing Emma Athersmith gave a special presentation to local business leaders at the Bay Business Excellence Awards, last month.

CancerCare was the event’s “chosen charity” and Emma talked about the work we do helping people in desperate need in our local communities across the Bay area.

The event, which was held at the Morecambe FC stadium, was attended by representatives from dozens of prominent businesses and organisations from across north Lancashire and we were also the recipient of more than £1,300 raised from a raffle held on the night.

Emma said: “It was great night and fantastic to be out back out talking to people about CancerCare face-to-face once again. I had so many really positive conversations with attendees and it was patently clear the high regard they have for the work we do and we’ll be working hard to build on those links in the coming months.”
