Whodunnit event goes off with a BANG!

Last Friday we experienced an evening of mystery intrigue and fun as we tried to work out who shot Elvis at the ‘Greased’ whodunnit night.

The evening was filled with 1950s fun as the cast of volunteers acted out their dramatic scenes whilst trying to find the culprit. The cast, fully dressed up as the Fuchsia Girls and the G-Birds, performed wonderfully well keeping all of the audience on edge and guessing.

Audiences arrived dressed in their 1950s themes outfits and were given numerous clues throughout to help them work out who had shot Elvis behind the dumpster! Working together in teams, and with the option to swap clues with other teams meant for some strategic game play amongst the audience, ending with one guest chewing up her clues to stop other teams getting hold of the vital information.

With a sudden twist and another shooting the audience now had to figure out if this was the same person or we had another killer in the midst. Along with the inspector and the final clues, one team of super sleuths were able to figure out that Kenny was behind both attacks.

CancerCare staff and volunteers worked tirelessly to put this event together, not only with the brilliant script and acting but also with the amazing venue décor with balloons and banners they managed to transform the Vale of Lune rugby club in to a 1950s high school reunion. Yvonne, Sheridan, Faye and Patsie also set up a raffle full of brilliant prizes from afternoon tea vouchers, to hampers and even a Yukka plant!

The event was all in aid of fundraising for CancerCare, and raised over £1,940 including GiftAid. Well done to our winners and a massive thank you to all of the volunteers for their superb organisation and the actors for their commitment to American accents through-out, we cannot wait for the next event.
