Well, what a fantastic week we had for Volunteers Week 2023!

We got up to loads of activities to recognise the invaluable contribution our volunteers make to the charity. We did some “role-swapping” which saw our Head of Services and Development Lou do a stint on our reception desk and Fundraiser Anna & Marketing Assistant Holly run our Hug in a Mug support group.

The icing on the cake came last night at the Lancaster District CVS Volunteer Achievement Awards where the achievements of our volunteers were recognised at a special occasion at the Midland Hotel. Our Alisha won a certificate achievement in the Young Volunteer of the Year category and our Hug in a Mug and Thrive Allotment teams were recognised in the Volunteer Group category.

It has been an amazing week and well done to our Volunteer Coordinator Faye for the hard work she does all year round making all our volunteers feel valued across all our four centres.

We’ll be ending the event with a special garden party at our Slynedales Centre on Saturday!
