Today we celebrate 20 years to the day since Lady Ann Shuttleworth became Patron of CancerCare.
Lady Shuttleworth had, at the time, been involved in helping to raise money for the Oncology Unit at Royal Lancaster Infirmary where a family member had been a patient. When asked to become involved with CancerCare, she jumped at the chance so that she could help support cancer services in the area.
Over the past 20 years the Shuttleworths have been very active in their support for the charity, hosting fundraising events at their previous residence, Leck Hall, and Lady Shuttleworth has volunteered at events such as the Cross Bay Walk and in this photo, even tried her hand at silver jewellery making for our Love Links campaign.
Lady Ann said: "CancerCare has been a huge part of my life over the past 20 years and means a great deal to me."
The feeling is mutual and we can’t thank them enough for their steadfast support over the last two decades!
