At last year’s Lights on the Lake event, the addition of live music really added to the occasion in a reflective but uplifting way.

This year, we will have top local harpist Celia Briar performing at the Lights on the Lawn in-mem event at our Slynedales Centre on Saturday 1st April.

Celia has performed widely across the UK, both solo and as part of a group, with her brand of Celtic music which is described as gentle, relaxing and inspiring. Click here to have a listen to her wonderful sound!

Last year we also had the wonderful Brian Porter compering the evening and he’ll be back again next month. Brian is an experienced announcer and Master of Ceremonies whose personality really helped make it special.

Brian said: “I'm really looking forward to supporting CancerCare again this year, after hosting the beautiful Lights on The Lake at Capernwray last year. I got involved last year when I saw it on Facebook, and offered to host the evening. It was such a wonderful evening that allowed us to remember loved ones in a very moving way. It was my pleasure and privilege to host last year, and I'm looking forward to being with you all again."
