A massive boost for our support services for young people in Furness!
We were delighted to welcome Christine Allonby from Nationwide Building Society to our Barrow Centre to thank her in person for the wonderful donation of £9,639 which will help provide a dedicated Young People’s Peer Support Group for the town.
The group, which is called Re-Fresh, will provide a fun, activities and act as a safe space for young people aged 11 to 17 affected by cancer and bereavement to support each other with guidance from our youth worker Bex Goslin (pic left).
The donation will also help pay for the amazing range of activities the group enjoys and it has already enabled us to organise two special outdoor adventure days at Kepplewray Centre in Broughton.
Christine said: “Nationwide Building Society in Barrow are absolutely thrilled to have secured a special grant for such a fantastic local charity. Nationwide is committed to being part of the local community and it is wonderful to know that this money will be put to such good use helping children and young people cope with some incredibly tough situations.”
