Busy mum Lu Quinn loves a challenge so, when the opportunity to complete the iconic long-distance walk from Lands’ End to John O’Groats, from the comfort of her hometown, she jumped at the chance!

She signed up for the virtual Lands’ End to John O’Groats Challenge on social media and throughout the year she has walked or ran up to 20 miles a day along Morecambe Prom or in her local gym.

The challenge was ideal for Lu as it enabled her to fit in around her very busy life working two jobs and looking after her two children Isabella and Max.

“Having two young children makes it difficult for me to get out and get many miles in, so if I had any spare time I could get to the gym or onto the prom. Sometimes I’d do up to 20miles a day to make up for the days and weeks where I hadn’t done any. I was really proud to have completed the challenge earlier than expected, and I also got sent a T-shirt and a medal so I can keep that as a nice memory,” said Lu.

Lu raised £590 during her challenge which is an amazing achievement and will help us support many people in the town from our centre on Northumberland Street.
