This year marks the fourth birthday of Morecambe Bay Wills and Estates, and they aren’t just celebrating that, they’re also celebrating raising over £10K for CancerCare!

Founder of the business Nicola Combe used CancerCare’s services after losing her husband Jim in 2018. The support she received inspired her to set up Morecambe Bay Wills and Estates and use it to help the charity by donating 5% of each Will or Power of Attorney to CancerCare.

Since 2019, Nicola and her amazing team have worked hard to raise £10,123 for CancerCare. This phenomenal amount of money has provided approximately 300 counselling sessions for local adults and children coping with cancer or bereavement.

“With CancerCare’s help, my family were able to deal with the devastating effect that cancer had and the aftermath of that. I know that the therapies made such a difference to Jim when he was ill, and that the help I had in coming to terms with his loss was so important. I will always be grateful for that, as I know so many other families are,” said Nicola

CancerCare’s Small Business Pledge scheme gives local businesses the opportunity to support a charity in a unique way that suits them. We feel humbled to have the support of business such as Morecambe Bay Wills and Estates, who make a really difference to the services we provide.

“Supporting the work CancerCare do locally is at the heart of what we do, and I am proud of our team’s achievements. But we don’t stop there – our target for 2022 was £2,500 and we managed to raise £6,000. We are absolutely aiming to raise even more in 2023,” said Nicola.

“In the current financial climate, we know money is precious, that’s why we are so grateful for Nicola’s pledge to continuously support CancerCare through these difficult times. Support from local independent businesses is invaluable to CancerCare, each and every penny contributes to the efforts of the work we do. I would like to personally thank the incredible team at Morecambe Bay Wills and Estates for their dedication over the past three years,” said Alison Stainthorpe, Chief Executive.
