CancerCare’s 2025 Santa Dash raised almost £3,000 (excluding Gift Aid) last month, despite a particularly dreary weather forecast.
The Santa Dash is one of the staple events in CancerCare’s calendar. Dashers showed up in their festive finest and turned Lancaster into a sea of Santas, elves and reindeer.
The one-mile fun run around Lancaster City Centre took place ahead of the city’s Christmas lights switch-on.
A huge shout-out to the Campbell family, who won the chance to switch on Lancaster’s Christmas lights on stage with Father Christmas!
Event Lead Lisa Lambert said: “Your energy, enthusiasm and generosity made this year’s Dash truly unforgettable. Thank you to every runner, donor, sponsor and supporter. You’ve made this a Santa Dash to remember!
“Another big thank you to some amazing local businesses who supported us with this event: FGH Security for supplying road marshals, Samba Espirito for bringing the party, Bob & Berts Lancaster for donating water for the runners, and Asda Morecambe for donating the candy canes. And, as always, to Lancaster BID for letting us kick-start the Christmas lights switch-on celebrations.”
