A wonderful father and husband.
At next week’s Lights on the Lawn evening, Natalie Squires and her daughters, Dorothy and Elise will be dedicating a candle to remember their husband and dad Kris who sadly died following a diagnosis of bowel cancer in 2022.
Following Kris’s diagnosis, the family had moved to Cumbria to make some treasured family memories in the Lake District and they will be using the evening to celebrate Kris’s life and reflect on the wonderful summer they shared before he passed away.
We provided counselling and specialist children’s therapy for the family at our centre on Duke Street in Barrow.
“Kris is missed by many. In the latter months he refused to be bitter, he tried to live with cancer whilst prioritising his family, friends and loved ones. He always took every hospital visit and bad news with such grace, positivity and gratefulness for the life he had,” said Natalie.
Natalie described Kris as the “sunshine of their family” and we are delighted they will be joining us at Lights on the Lawn, along with many others, looking for a moment of quiet reflection to pay tribute to loved ones no longer with us.
If you would like to dedicate a candle with a special, personal message you can find more about Lights on the Lawn by clicking below – or if you are unable to attend, we can do it for you.
