In 2019 we hosted our very first Chef Show in Cumbria which saw more than 170 guests enjoy a five-course meal specially created by some of the area’s finest chefs – we are proud to announce the Chef Show is back!
This year we have five talented local chefs with over 100 years’ experience combined and plenty of exciting recipes to share. The chefs will donate their time to support the event and it will most certainly be a night to remember! Thanks to our main event sponsors, The Farmers Arms Ulverston, and our Arrival Drinks and Programme Sponsor, The Ship Inn at Bardsea - without whom this event would not be possible!
After almost a three-year break, we will be opening the doors of the Coronation Hall in Ulverston to local businesses, families and CancerCare clients to indulge in an evening of fine dining, entertainment, and charity support. On Saturday 5th November our chefs will take to the stage and cook some of the most fresh and unique dishes for our guests to enjoy.
CancerCare’s Director or Fundraising and Marketing Emma Athersmith said: “Our first ever Chef Show in 2019 was so good we just had to bring it back. The reaction from the guests was fantastic and we couldn’t thank the local community enough for their support and we hope to see some familiar faces again this November”.
The Chef Show is designed to raise awareness of our services, especially our centre on Duke Street, Barrow which has been open since September 2020. Since our opening over 350 people have walked through our doors to access our services.
The chefs will prepare their course live on stage before it is served to the guests. Our five local chefs have an array of knowledge and experience in the kitchen, and we’re excited to announce the chefs in the run up to the show. So, head over to our social media pages to keep up to date.
The evening will be hosted by Ulverston’s very own Gary Gifford, and we cannot thank him enough for donating his time to help us make the night a success. After dinner there will be an opportunity to dance the night away courtesy of local DJ Pete Garbacz, who will be also be donating his time free of charge.
