October: Throw a sponsored fancy dress day
Why not celebrate in style this October and join in the Halloween spirit by hosting a fancy dress day at your work, school or local group?
You could choose any day in October to do this, or you could challenge yourself and do more than a day!
Plan ahead
The first step is to decide what your challenge will be and how you’re going to do it.
Think about where you’d like to take on your challenge. You could organise it at work, at school, with your local community group or somewhere else that works for you.
Once you've decided on the details, it's time to spread the word! Create a poster to tell people what you're doing, why you're doing it and how they can support you.
And, of course, don't forget to plan your outfit!
Will you choose one amazing fancy-dress costume, or will you change your outfit throughout your challenge? Get creative and make it something people will remember!
Fundraise with ease
Once your challenge is planned, it's time to start fundraising.
We can provide you with personalised sponsorship forms to help you get people signed up and supporting your challenge.
You can also set up an online fundraising page through a platform such as JustGiving. This makes it easy for friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you and share your fundraiser with others.
Don't forget to promote your challenge on social media too. Share your plans, updates and progress to encourage more people to get involved and support you.
Every donation, big or small, can make a difference.
Sharing your event on social media is a great way to encourage donations and tell people why you're fundraising for CancerCare.
Celebrate Your Success
You've done it – now it's time to celebrate!
Take lots of photos and capture the fun along the way. Share your photos and updates on social media and tell people why you took on the challenge and what their support means to you.
Once you've counted up your donations, share your fundraising total and celebrate what you've achieved together.
And most importantly, don't forget to thank everyone who supported you, donated or helped make your challenge possible.
