A brand-new cancer support group in Kendal – Together Through Cancer – will launch on Tuesday 6th January 2026 from 10am to 12pm and will continue to run on a bi-weekly basis during the same time slot.
Together Through Cancer will be led by volunteer and client Claire Walker. It will bet held at CancerCare Kendal on Blackhall Road and is open to anyone who has been affected by a cancer diagnosis.
Claire said: “Since my breast cancer diagnosis in February 2023, CancerCare has been a lifeline of support and comfort to me during some rough times, including my various treatments and beyond; everyone else thinks you’ve bounced back because ‘you’re cured’, but you’re quietly suffering on the inside.
“This support group will be a safe space to speak with likeminded individuals who also understand the complexities of navigating cancer as well as life post-cancer, irrespective of the type you had or have. It will be a place where you can be you without judgment, with the added benefit of tea, coffee and hopefully a slice of cake or two!”
Please drop into CancerCare Kendal on Blackhall Road on the above dates and times; there is no need to book.
CancerCare Kendal is located just behind the bus station. Please note, parking is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
