Lancaster Race Series’ BIG Santa Dash 2025 has raised a record-breaking total for local cancer and bereavement charity CancerCare.
Held on Sunday 21st December, the BIG Santa Dash brought in over £3,000. The event is an annual fixture in the local running scene’s calendar and is CancerCare’s final fundraiser of the year.
There were three race options available: the one-mile Family Fun Run, the Christmas Cracker 10K and the Turkey Trot Half-Marathon.
Winner of the 10K, with a time of 00:34:39, was Callum Queen, while James Gullen took the half-marathon title after finishing in 01:17:56.
Lisa Lambert, CancerCare Event Lead, said: “Thank you for the amazing support from Lancaster Race Series, who host this annual event in aid of CancerCare.
“It was a day full of team spirit and camaraderie. Runners came from all over the UK, supporting each other across the finish line. There were some incredible festive outfits too, with a running Scrooge, Jesus, Buddy the Elf and a few reindeer in the mix!
“A huge shout-out to Billy and Helen from Lancaster Race Series, FGH Security for helping marshal, and the army of volunteers and supporters – we cannot run these events without everyone’s support.”
