CancerCare supporter Alex Armistead took on the Leeds Marathon, finishing in 3 hours 36 minutes and raising £3,350 (including Gift Aid) for CancerCare.

In 2022, Alex’s mum was diagnosed with breast cancer, one of the most common cancers that affects around one in seven women.

Alex decided to fundraise for CancerCare as we supported his mum and family when she was diagnosed.

“What pushed me through was thinking of Mum and all the others you help,” Alex said. “It’s been an honour to raise money for this fantastic charity and I am so happy I could help even in a small way like this, although it could never compare to what you have done for my family.”
