Last year, local group Kent Estuary Young Farmers Club (YFC) stripped off to create Kent Estuary Bares All, a cheeky calendar that was printed and sold to raise funds for CancerCare. We are so proud to reveal that the proceeds raised have exceeded the £10,000 mark!
The photographs were taken by Cumbrian photographer Helen Mitchell-Hunter, and each month was generously sponsored by a local business.
The calendars were launched in September at the Westmorland County Show. They were then sold online, in various shops and local businesses, and at Kent Estuary YFC events.
Lisa Oliver-Hannis, CancerCare’s South Lakes Community Fundraiser, said: “Working with Kent Estuary YFC has been a wonderful experience; they are a group of generous, kind, and fun people who were willing to bare all – literally – for our small local charity.
“We are over the moon that the calendar sales passed the £10k mark - a phenomenal total. These funds will provide essential support to local people who are going through some of the hardest challenges of their lives. We cannot thank everyone involved enough for their efforts. And to those who bought a copy, thank you for your support!”
Kent Estuary YFC Secretary Eve Bland said: “We are over the moon with the total raised for CancerCare – to exceed £10,000 is just phenomenal. We are so proud of our members who boldly took part in the shoot, our amazing photographer Helen, and the local businesses who supported the fundraiser by sponsoring each month. A huge thank you to everyone who bought a calendar or sold stock, too! CancerCare impacts so many of us, so to be able to give something back to a charity that helps so many local people in need is simply amazing.”
Thank you so much to the members, businesses and other individuals who made this possible - we are so grateful for the funds that will go a long way in ensuring we can continue supporting local adults and children affected by cancer.
