Treasurer Trustee needed
Trustees have a crucial role at CancerCare. They use their expertise and vast experience to help steer the charity and make the important decisions needed to secure its future. All our trustees give their time on a voluntary basis, but all say the unique sense of reward and satisfaction they get from doing so more than compensates.
Next year we will begin preparations for our 40th anniversary in 2023, and we will be using this major milestone in our history as a springboard for ambitious plans to build on our past successes and launch new long-term initiatives to enable us to reach even more people across the region in need of the help we provide.
To help us make this happen we are recruiting three new trustees with the skills, vision and inspiration to help us drive forward into the next 40 years.
Our current Treasurer will soon have served their maximum of three 3-year terms on our Board and will leave the Board in April 2022. Therefore, we are looking to recruit another motivated and financially skilled individual who can help us navigate through the next stages of our development.
We are keen to attract a diverse range of potential candidates, however, the nature of the role requires certain specific skills and experience including:
• A professional accounting qualification with demonstrable commercial awareness and strategic experience
• Knowledge of the Charities Statement of Recommended Practice in financial reporting and its application
• Understanding of the regulatory environment within which UK charities operate
• Understanding of risk management frameworks
