Anna's Fundraising update

Good afternoon everyone! Your weekly Fundraising update is here with news of the fantastic supportwe have received over the past seven days!

On Saturday evening, Katie attended ‘One Night Only’; a concert featuring five local ladies who had come together to sing the songs of inspiring girl groups from the 60s,70s,80s & 90s.

The evening raised a brilliant £779.28 and Ceri Hamer, one of the organisers, is already planning her next fundraising event!

Our friends at CancerCare’s Ambleside Drop-In Group have presented us with a donation of £735; raised through collection tins placed in local Ambleside shops, donations from group members and a donation from the Windermere Taverners Cricket Club.

This week we’ve also had an incredible donation of £5,000 from an anonymous supporter who is very passionate about CancerCare’s work in the local area.

Of course, the biggest fundraising news story this week is that CancerCare has been shortlisted for the chance to receive £32,000 of National Lottery 'People's Projects' funding to provide creative and activity groups for families in Barrow and Furness affected by cancer.

We need your votes for our campaign ‘CancerCare - We'll Be There’ when voting opens at 9am on Monday, April 16, and closes at noon on Monday, April 30.

Read more about this exciting opportunity for CancerCare on our website.

Look out for updates about how to vote in the coming week and let’s get behind the #TeamCancerCare bid to be there for everyone across the North Lancashire & South Cumbria who needs our support!
