Alison's First Blog

Read Alison's first blog as CEO here.

Good Morning All,

This time last week we were sharing our last day with Neil as we bid him a fond farewell as he starts his early retirement.
This is not an attempt to replicate Neil’s blog but Alison, Emma and I thought it would be nice for us to keep you up to speed with what’s happening here at CancerCare until our new CEO Maria Chambers arrives. We will do this on a fortnightly basis and alongside the Fundraising Vlog you will be kept abreast of all things ‘CancerCare’

This week we said hello to Lou Andrews who has joined Alison’s team as our Young Person’s Action Research Officer and Debbie McEwan who most of you will recognise…Debbie was our Monday morning volunteer receptionist and Debbie joins Emma’s team as the Fundraising Administrator allowing Anna to start her new role as Individual Giving Officer. Please make them feel welcome and say hello.

This is also the week we say au revoir to the green carbuncle in the carpark here at Slynedales. Yes the grotty green Portakabin is being dismantled and is the end result of one of the Managing Upwards team projects. Watch this space for what we may replace it with.

Did you catch us on Granada Reports earlier this week….Spot the familiar faces, a great opportunity to talk about what we have done with the money we received from the People’s Project funding last year.

And finally, this Friday we will be hosting our first ever Keeping Good Company Spring Ball at Abbey House, Barrow in Furness. We’ve had an amazing response and if you are interested there may still be a table left, contact Emma for more details.

Have a lovely day!

Alison
