Young People’s Action Research Officer

CancerCare seeks to appoint a Young People’s Action Research Officer to design a new service with and for young people in North Lancashire.

Working Hours:      15 hours per week (flexible to include some evening work)

Location:                     Slynedales, Lancaster

Salary:                         £25k pro rata

Responsibilities will include:

•   Co-designing and delivering peer support groups, and an outreach counselling service for teenagers

•  Keeping in contact with Children in Need who have funded the project to provide them with updates about the project and outcomes data.

• Working in partnership with other providers.

The successful post holder must have significant experience of working with this age group in a youth work or therapeutic capacity.

Events Fundraiser

CancerCare seeks to CancerCare seeks to appoint an Events Fundraiser to develop and deliver an events calendar of activity to raise funds, increase awareness of and support for the organisation and build our supporter database.

Working Hours:      28 hours per week

Location:                     Slynedales, Lancaster

Salary:                         £20,000-£22,000 pro rata (depending on experience)

Responsibilities will include:

• To identify and plan an engaging, varied events programme for CancerCare
• To generate & maximise income from all CancerCare events
• To help recruit participants and then support all participants for CancerCare events
• To recruit, support and manage volunteers for fundraising events
• To be responsible for all social/digital media marketing of CancerCare events

The successful post holder must have at least 2 years’ experience of working in a similar role with a proven track record of successful fundraising through events or an event management background.

Marketing & Communications Officer

CancerCare seeks to appoint a Marketing & Communications Officer to coordinate all areas of the organisation’s communication channels and functions to raise the charity’s profile across North Lancashire, South Lakeland and the Barrow & Furness peninsular.

Working Hours:      37.5 hours per week

Location:                     Slynedales, Lancaster

Salary:                         £23,000 per annum

The post holder will generate and distribute content across various channels, including the website, social media, and print and online marketing materials. They will also plan and implement communications and marketing campaigns to raise awareness and funds.

Responsibilities will include:

• To develop engaging content for use across the charity’s communications activities
• To provide communications support to all areas of the organisation including projects, services, centres and fundraising
• Maintain CancerCare’s corporate identity
• Manage the production of all organisational literature and promotional materials

The successful post holder must have at least 3 years’ experience in Marketing Communications and/or project management role preferably gained within the voluntary sector.
