Good Morning! Are you feeling the love of Valentine's weekend? We are here at CancerCare!

valentinesAs many of us are get ready to spoil our beloveds and celebrate our feelings of affection for that special person in our lives spare a thought of couples facing cancer. It can often be really hard to talk to our partners or spouse about difficult or emotional topics like cancer so we've put together a Valentines Blog with relationships tips that might help.

And - if you haven't bought a Valentines gift yet then why not consider signing up to our Friends of CancerCare giving scheme? Lasts longer than flowers and is better for your waistline than chocolates!

On Monday I paid a visit to the Ambleside Drop in Group, I really think they appreciate the occasional visit from me with a chance to catch up on what is going on in the group and for them to ask about the work of CancerCare. They are such an inspiring bunch and make a great cup of tea!

SAM 1685On Thursday on my way out to a really useful charity governance seminar in Preston, I had chance to chat to Simon - our Gardener - out in the grounds doing his thing. The gardens look so tidy and he does such a good job. Spring definitely feels in the air.

The seminar was excellent and I have come away with a number of positive ideas to share with our trustee board. All the work they have done recently on Risk Management, business planning was all highlighted as best practice and alarmingly not common place in lots of charities. I think we are safely ahead of the pack. Whatever you are doing this weekend, feel the love!

Regards, Neil
