Getting Creative with Metals

CancerCare's Creative Metals (Jewellery) Groups meet weekly in Lancaster and Kendal to create functional or wearable objects in silver, copper, brass and sometimes gold.

Each person who joins the group brings with them a wealth of experience with cancer or life limiting illness and may be a carer, bereaved or ill himself or herself.

Learning a new skill through expert guidance while in an intimate setting allows members the time and space to truly relax.  Items such as necklaces, cufflinks, rings, earrings, bangles, boxes, candleholders, bookmarks and pins are just a few examples of what members create.

There are currently 3 groups with a total around 25 members who all benefit from attending by using their hands, hearts and minds to create something new and truly unique.

All tools and sundries needed are provided by CancerCare.  Materials are available to buy on the day however members may choose to buy either online/through craft suppliers or may bring in old jewellery to be recycled or repaired.

If you know someone who may benefit from joining please get in touch and call 01524 381 820.
