Good morning! Smiles all round this week, starting with this lovely pic taken at Furness General Hosptial..

Here's Therapist Lynda Coleman with one of our clients Margaret, and Rachel Minshull, who continues to push on with our service development in Barrow. Smiles all round too I guess at FGH, following their inspection result announced this week. A great result for the team, staff and more importantly, for the patients who use the service.

Tuesday was memorable too with national 'Safer internet Day', where our staff took part in a number of learning exercises designed to get us thinking about the importance of protecting children & young people when they are online.

On Wednesday evening, I attended the Mayor of Kendal’s annual charity dinner at Kendal College. Although we are not one of the chosen charities, it was still a very useful evening to mix with a number of important partners who work with us in Kendal. I even won the major raffle prize, dinner for four people in the college restaurant, which is super. I will be donating the voucher to be included in the auction at the Phoenix Fundraising Ball to be held next month. Here I am pictured with Glenys Marriott, one of our supporters and Chair of Cumbria Headway.

On Thursday morning Alison Dixey and I attended a sixth from assembly with 270 boys at Lancaster Grammar school. We introduced CancerCare and showed a short film before all the boys spent a tutorial considering ways in which services for teenagers could be developed. It was really engaging. The Lancaster Guardian also attended and we hope that a feature will appear in the paper soon. The research we have been doing with a variety of young people to date has resulted in us talking either directly or in-directly to over 400 young people across our patch.

Later today Andrea and I are attending a meeting of the Managers from Mitchells Brewery, to talk to them as a group about our work and how their fundraising efforts are so important to us.

Whatever you are doing have a great weekend. Neil.
