A Great Excuse for Cake!
CancerCare CEO Neil's Weekly Blog
Good Morning! By the time you read this, I will be on my way to Barrow, where I am spending the day today. I have some time planned with Development Officer Rachel Minshull, so we can have a good catch up regarding all the recent positive developments.
Later in the day, I will be attending an NHS listening event at the Forum. These events have always proved interesting and a great way to network with members of the public and other organisations working in the Furness area.
We reached an important milestone this week as CancerCare’s Facebook page hit 3,000 page likes so, to celebrate, Slynedales receptionist Michelle Bowman baked a wonderful awesome cake for us to enjoy! (Any excuse for cake really!) Thank you Michelle, and to all our supporters who follow our social media updates.
It was also good to see that our Cross Bay Challenge Walk in June is sold out, but don't worry - we have secured an additional 50 places! These will sell quickly so if you want to take part or have family and friends who want do it, then please register now!
This weekend we have Bark in the Park in Lancaster and we're hoping for dry weather to attract more families and pooches to what will be a super fun event. I will be on hand to help the judging at 12 noon - see you there! Regards, Neil
